Describe your business, nonprofit or project, and the products and/or services you offer? |
In my over 10 years of experience working closely with women of color, I know that women are the backbone of companies, families and communities… and when they thrive, we all thrive. But oftentimes, the toxic relationships we find ourselves in, whether it’s romantic, friendship, or familial, prevent us from truly thriving. Her Soul Supply is your one stop shop for getting over break ups and breaking the cycles that got you there in the first place. This is a comprehensive coaching program curated for women of color to help you unlearn toxic relationship patterns while building community and rebuilding their confidence. We offer a combination of education, community, and travel to help women get out of their relationship rut. I shouldn’t have to diagnose you to help you learn to love yourself better. By teaching you to harness the power of self-love, exploration, and community support, you not only break unhealthy relationship cycles, you have the power to actually live the elevated life you seek and impact future generations while you’re at it. |
Are you Caribbean or African, or of Caribbean or African descent? If you are, please tell us details. |
African descent from Peru living in the United States |
Do you think your Caribbean or African upbringing/heritage has impacted your work? If so, please explain how. |
Yes, I identify as Afro-Peruvian. I’m a descendent of my enslaved African ancestors and we are only 2% of the Peruvian population. Our culture (which we call criolla) has been the throughline of our family, even as we moved geographical location to escape oppression and seek better opportunities. My parents and I live in NY where we’ve been able to adopt and embrace people of the African diaspora and remain connected to our anscestry. |
How does your work positively impact culture + community? |
My heritage remains a big part of me and something I support women in celebrating as a way to harness their self-love. My work is all about helping women of color learn to love themselves in a world that gives them messages that they are not worthy of beauty, love, and rest. Women are the backbone of families, companies, and communities and by helping them thrive, society as a whole is better. Giving Women of Color the tools to step into their power is my gift back to the culture. |
