Describe your business, nonprofit or project, and the products and/or services you offer?
At Vetmentors, LLC, our main focus is on assisting homeless and at-risk US veterans. We specialize in helping them secure housing and providing the support they need to live a more fulfilling life. As a Realtor, I utilize my expertise to facilitate the process of finding suitable housing for these veterans. I also work with real estate investors to help them fill their units nationwide with a written plan.

But our work doesn’t stop there. We also take on the critical role of connecting veterans with the necessary resources and agencies to access funding for housing placement. We act as a bridge between these veterans and the resources they require. This involves writing letters to both private and government agencies, seeking financial support for our mission and referring the veterans to them.

In addition to our housing services, we provide transportation and buy food if needed. We also offer other essential items such as toiletries, assisting these veterans during their transition period. We believe in supporting them in every possible way to ensure a successful transition into stable and fulfilling lives.

At Vetmentors, LLC, our mission is to take veterans from homelessness to homes to homeownership with dignity, love, and support. We are committed to making a meaningful impact on the lives of these veterans and supporting them in every way possible.
Are you Caribbean or African, or of Caribbean or African descent? If you are, please tell us details.
As the owner of Vetmentors, LLC, I am proud to share that I am of African descent. Understanding my heritage is important to me, which is why I took the initiative to learn more about my ancestry through DNA testing. It allows me to have a deeper understanding of who I am as a descendant. While I wish I knew more details about my specific ancestry to provide further information, I can confirm that I share maternal genetic ancestry with the Fulani and Yoruba people living in Nigeria, as certified by AFRICAN ANCESTRY. This connection to my African roots is an important aspect of my identity as a business owner, and it strengthens my commitment to serving and supporting others, especially those who have faced challenges and hardships like homeless and at-risk veterans.
Do you think your Caribbean or African upbringing/heritage has impacted your work? If so, please explain how.

How does your work positively impact culture + community?
The work of Vetmentors, LLC positively impacts culture and community by addressing the problem of housing insecurity among homeless and at-risk veterans. Our community is faced with the challenge of providing stable housing for these veterans, and we are dedicated to finding solutions.

Our impact on culture and community begins with our free housing workshops. Through these workshops, we provide valuable information and resources to help veterans secure stable housing. We understand that each veteran’s situation is unique, so we take the time to listen and navigate their individual needs to ensure they have access to the necessary support.

As a middleman between veterans and the resources they need, we connect them with the agencies and funding options available for housing. We also go beyond just housing by offering transportation, purchasing food, and providing other necessary items like toiletries to help them through the transition period.

Our mission is to take veterans from homelessness to homes to homeownership with dignity, love, and support. By doing so, we are not only improving the lives of these veterans, but also contributing to the overall betterment of our community. We believe that by providing homeless veterans with the necessary assistance and support to secure housing and live more fulfilling lives, we are making a meaningful impact on culture and community.
