Describe your business, nonprofit or project, and the products and/or services you offer? |
I am the Founder and Director of Analyca Policy Institute, a think tank based in Casablanca, Morocco, dedicated to research and policy advocacy in the fields of environmental sustainability, gender equality, conflict resolution, and human rights. Our mission is to provide evidence-based insights and innovative solutions to some of the most pressing challenges facing underprivileged and conflict-affected communities. Currently, we are focused on our flagship initiative, the EmpowerHer project. Our Services: Policy Research and Analysis: We conduct in-depth research on topics such as climate resilience, gender-responsive policies, and conflict resolution. Our work informs policymakers, NGOs, and international organizations, providing them with actionable recommendations to promote sustainable development and peace. Consulting Services: We offer consulting in contract management, negotiation, procurement, and policy development. Our clients include government bodies, NGOs, and private sector organizations looking to implement policies and programs aligned with sustainable development goals. Advocacy and Public Communication: We lead advocacy campaigns to raise awareness on critical issues like gender equality, climate change, and human rights. Our ongoing EmpowerHer project is designed to empower women and girls through education on menstrual hygiene, sexual health, and integrated sustainable water management in underprivileged communities and conflict zones. Educational Programs: We organize webinars, workshops, and seminars on topics related to our research areas. These programs aim to educate and empower youth, women, and other stakeholders, fostering inclusive dialogue and capacity-building. Partnerships and Collaboration: We actively seek partnerships with global organizations, foundations, and CSOs that share our values. These collaborations will enhance our ability to drive impactful change and reach broader audiences. Through the EmpowerHer project, Analyca Policy Institute aims to make significant strides in promoting gender equality, health education, and climate resilience in some of the most challenging environments. Our work continues to shape policies and practices that foster peace, human rights, and sustainable development in Morocco and beyond. |
Are you Caribbean or African, or of Caribbean or African descent? If you are, please tell us details. |
Yes, I am of African descent, specifically from Morocco, located in North Africa. Morocco is a country with a rich cultural heritage, deeply rooted in African, Arab, and Mediterranean influences. My background and experiences in this region have significantly shaped my perspectives on social justice, human rights, and sustainable development, particularly in the context of African communities and their unique challenges. This connection to the African continent drives my commitment to advocating for policies that promote equality, peace, and resilience in conflict-affected and underprivileged areas across Africa. |
Do you think your Caribbean or African upbringing/heritage has impacted your work? If so, please explain how. |
Yes, my African heritage, specifically being from Morocco, has profoundly impacted my work. Growing up in a region that bridges Africa, the Arab world, and the Mediterranean, I’ve been exposed to diverse cultures, histories, and challenges, particularly those related to social justice, human rights, and development. This background has instilled in me a deep understanding of the complexities and resilience of African communities, especially in the face of conflict and inequality. My heritage has inspired my commitment to advocating for gender equality, climate resilience, and peacebuilding in Africa. It drives my focus on creating policies and initiatives that are culturally sensitive and locally relevant, ensuring that they address the unique needs of African communities. This perspective informs my work at the Analyca Policy Institute, where we aim to empower marginalized groups, particularly women and girls, in conflict-affected areas, reflecting the values and challenges inherent to my African upbringing. |
How does your work positively impact culture + community? |
My work at Analyca Policy Institute positively impacts culture and community by fostering inclusivity, empowerment, and sustainable development, particularly in underprivileged and conflict-affected areas. Through our flagship project, EmpowerHer, we are addressing critical issues like menstrual hygiene, sexual health, and integrated water management, which directly affect women and girls in these communities. By providing education and resources, we are not only improving health outcomes but also challenging cultural stigmas and empowering women to take control of their lives and futures. Our advocacy efforts also promote gender equality and human rights, creating a ripple effect within the community by encouraging broader discussions on these topics. This work helps to build more resilient and informed communities that value and support the rights of all their members, regardless of gender. Moreover, our commitment to culturally sensitive policy research ensures that the solutions we advocate for are rooted in the local context, respecting and enhancing the cultural heritage of the communities we serve. This approach fosters a sense of ownership and pride within the community, leading to more sustainable and impactful outcomes. Through these efforts, we are not only addressing immediate needs but also contributing to long-term cultural and social transformation. |
