To facilitate growth through body positivity, movement, and mental health education. We’re not just about fitness; we’re about helping you break free from limiting beliefs, developing authentic confidence, and walking your journey unapologetically.
Are you Caribbean or African, or of Caribbean or African descent? If you are, please tell us details.
I identify as an African American. My maternal grandmother took an ancestry test and learned that most of her bloodline is Nigerian, Cameroon, Congo and Western Bantu
Do you think your Caribbean or African upbringing/heritage has impacted your work? If so, please explain how.
I chose AYA specifically because it is a West African, Adrinkra symbol and term that represents endurance and resourcefulness. The symbol is a fern, which is a hardy plant that can grow in difficult places. These skills and my stories are the water poured into the concrete, and we are the flowers blooming in our own unique colors, shapes and size. It’s important to know that YOU are
placed in this world for a reason and I want to help find what that is for the person.
How does your work positively impact culture + community?
Thee AYA Movement will provide wellness and healing services with the hope to build an UNAPOLOGETIC love for self and continued healing within their unique journey. Sharing my life experiences through these skills will provide insight
to giving grace and creating the journey to healing, unapologetically. The intention of my services is to enhance the theme of Mental Health Awareness by offering something to contemplate in relation to mental health and movement.
What message of hope or inspiration would you like to share with other women in our community who are also pursuing their dreams?
You are here for a reason. Explore it. Embrace it. Give Grace. And Thrive!
