Are you Caribbean or African, or of Caribbean or African descent? If you are, please tell us details. |
I’m a Nigerian who presently lives in Nigeria. My parents are also 100% Nigerians. I was born in Lagos state, the former capital city of the country. I had my nursery and primary education in Lagos while both my secondary and university education was in Kano state, another major city in the northern part of the count. I presently live in the capital city, Abuja with my husband and four children. |
Do you think your Caribbean or African upbringing/heritage has impacted your work? If so, please explain how. |
I believe that my African upbringing has impacted my work in the sense that as a Yoruba woman, I’ve been brought up to work hard at whatever I do. Also as a Muslim woman, hard work is the heart of being a true believer. This is because we’re khalifa (vincegerent) in this world to achieve the purpose we’recreated for. |
How does your work positively impact culture + community? |
My work as a Book/Accountability Coach has immensely impacted my culture as I’ve helped Muslim women create, write and publish their books on Amazon which invariably has impacted the readers who read those books. An example is a recently completed book on family dynamics called The Legacy of Honor: A blueprint for strong family values. In regards to community, I’m advocating to my professional friends to document their knowledge and expertise in a book to impact the coming generations so that they leave this world empty of their awesomeness to the community and world. |
