Describe your business, nonprofit or project, and the products and/or services you offer? |
Online digital newspaper for current and aspiring female entrepreneurs. Our mission is to encourage self discovery through entrepreneurship. Our goal is to connect first generation entrepreneurs to their respective community partners in order to contribute to the total wellbeing of businesses and their owners. |
Are you Caribbean or African, or of Caribbean or African descent? If you are, please tell us details. |
I am African American. |
Do you think your Caribbean or African upbringing/heritage has impacted your work? If so, please explain how. |
Being an African American growing up in disadvantaged neighborhoods forced me to survive. As I discovered my life purpose I begin to thrive instead of survive, shedding all statistics I were to conform to. I became my authentic self and utilized all the resources for underrepresented individuals and now I live life on my terms. |
How does your work positively impact culture + community? |
My work positively impacts the culture and community because we provide valuable information that contributes to the total wellbeing of businesses and their owners. I connect aspiring and current entrepreneurs to the resources that are set aside for individuals like us. We do not gatekeep and inform our readers on all the opportunities out there to bet on ourselves. We follow the money, opportunities and resources of the organizations whose mission/vision align with ours. |
How should potential customers and persons interested in networking & partnerships contact you? |
Online via our website(www.henrysocietyjournal) or on Instagram: @hsj.news or @raefromhsj |
What message of hope or inspiration would you like to share with other women in our community who are also pursuing their dreams? |
Ask and you shall receive, be who you are and it’ll be” – Rae McElroy. My message of hope/inspiration I would like to share with other women in your community who are also pursuing their dreams is as wild as it may seem to be, once you get on the winning team with yourself you’ll realize how often you succeed. There’s no shortcut, plug, discount or person who would show up like you show up for yourself. Remember people are a help on your journey as a result of you asking for it. Get in alignment and all things will be aligned for you. Lastly, please, please soak up the journey and when in doubt or fear ask yourself if you’re ready for what you’re wishing for. Usually the ‘no’ is the work in between you haven’t done to reach your wishes. |
