| Story and Myth is a Jamaican based lifestyle brand of island-inspired handcrafted jewelry. We combine the art of storytelling with eco-friendly and locally sourced materials to create a chic ensemble of bracelets, mala (necklaces) beads and headwear. Our pieces are designed with thought and intent and are made to bless, guide and protect the wearer. Our beads are assembled by artisans with disabilities. |

| Do you think your Caribbean or African upbringing/heritage has impacted your work? If so, please explain how. |
| My Caribbean upbringing of spending summers with my grandparents and hearing my grandfather tell stories. Listening to Miss Louise Bennett share Jamaican folktales and songs in our local dialect and going to the pantomime to see cultural performances which highlighted some of our folklore like the River Maid, a fresh water mermaid from Jamaica definitely influenced and inspired me and other stories. |
| How does your work positively impact culture + community? |
| Some of the materials I use have been used by the indigenous first people of Jamaica, the Africans who came and those that were brought here as well some of the other peoples who came to Jamaica. We are all connected, and these stories hundreds of years old can provide a sense of comfort and inspiration. And I like to share these stories and they inspire the pieces I create. |
