Describe your business, nonprofit or project, and the products and/or services you offer?
Patriotic T&T is a destination marketing company promoting the islands of Trinidad and Tobago, while raising the patriotism levels of our nationals. Our vehicles for this is through authentic cultural experiences built on community and the creation of a tourism eco-system. Our offerings support cultural groups, local artisans and community members who upkeep traditions and preserve T&T’s culture.

We offer tours and cultural experiences to locals and visitors, fulfilling requests for persons’ T&T Bucket List wishes. We also provide information on Trinidad and Tobago and source and promote locally made items. Additionally, our merchandise line consists of apparel that says who we are before we or our accent does, along with other cute yet functional items that bring our cultural elements to life.
Are you Caribbean or African, or of Caribbean or African descent? If you are, please tell us details.
Yes, born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago.
Do you think your Caribbean or African upbringing/heritage has impacted your work? If so, please explain how.
Being Caribbean affords us a different way of seeing the world. Our perspective is creative, mixed, and welcoming. There are many “little things” that make us unique. I simply get to curate this uniqueness and share it with the world; giving others a taste of who we really are as Trinbagonians and Caribbean people. This work allows me to assist in the telling of our stories by us! It is a direct showcase of being Caribbean.
How does your work positively impact culture + community?
All our experiences are curated from a cultural aspect. We connect (with) communities and groups around the country and continuously create tours that bring their work into an ecosystem. Each experience/tour starts with a main cultural feature and then additional elements are added. We also aim to have our products and services as locally made or sourced as possible, ensuring funds continue to circle within our economy. Additionally, and more importantly, our work is for the advocacy of local! We promote and fight for the causes that will improve our islands and its people.
What message of hope or inspiration would you like to share with other women in our community who are also pursuing their dreams?
Being Caribbean, being us, being yourself is enough. There are people out there waiting to find you, who are intrigued by your story and your dreams. Honouring who we authentically are can fuel our very business ideas and give it the uniqueness the world desperately needs.
