Describe your business, nonprofit or project, and the products and/or services you offer? |
I am a Clinical Psychologist and private practice owner. In my practice, I offer professional psychological services, specifically online therapy, to women of color primarily within their 20s and 30s. I also recently expanded to provide immigration-related psychological evaluations. |
Are you Caribbean or African, or of Caribbean or African descent? If you are, please tell us details. |
Yes, I am of Haitian descent. My parents migrated from the southern region of Haiti to the United States in the late 1970s. I was born and raised in West Philadelphia, PA. |
Do you think your Caribbean or African upbringing/heritage has impacted your work? If so, please explain how. |
Absolutely! In my practice, my clients are generally of Caribbean or African heritage and much of my personal insights as a Haitian-American guide how I deliver care and relate to my clients. |
How does your work positively impact culture + community? |
My goal is to create healing spaces for women of color who have had to navigate complex inter/intra-cultural experiences their entire lives. I work to help them find language for their emotional barriers and create new paths forward. Many of my clients are emerging entrepreneurs themselves who desire to effect change in their communities. The work we do together in therapy has many implications for the community-at-large! |
How should potential customers and persons interested in networking & partnerships contact you? |

What message of hope or inspiration would you like to share with other women in our community who are also pursuing their dreams? |
There is a Haitian proverb, “Piti piti zwazo fe nich li,” which means, “Little by little, the bird builds it’s nest.” When I think about my journey into entrepreneurship, this message captures what the process has felt like. There were many times when I felt lost and detoured, but now realize that every experience was a step towards building the business that I enjoy so much today. This proverb also reminds me that I can build my nest as big as I want lol! |
