Describe your business, nonprofit or project, and the products and/or services you offer?
Glory locs is a solution to the problem many face in finding natural hair care without fillers and unnecessary ingredients that truly work. Our products are carefully formulated to provide nourishment from root to ends and assist in reversing damage and healing the hair for optimal growth. Our current line includes Back to Life Shampoo, Revive & Restore Deep Conditioner, Hair Butter, and Healing Hair Oil. As the business grows, we do seek to grow the product line.
Are you Caribbean or African, or of Caribbean or African descent? If you are, please tell us details.
Yes, my ethnicity consists of Nigerian, Ghanese, Mali, Cameroon, Congo & Western Bantu, and Benin & Togo.
Do you think your Caribbean or African upbringing/heritage has impacted your work? If so, please explain how.
I believe it has had a huge impact on how I formulate my products as well as use them. I love to find new natural ingredients and learn about how they were/are used in different cultures of my lineage.
How does your work positively impact culture + community?
It helps fill in the gap as it relates to hair care for people of color. While the products are marketed for all hair types, the products were created due to a lack of natural options for black women. That need is what started the business of Glory Locs.
How should potential customers and persons interested in networking & partnerships contact you?
glorylocsllc@gmail.com
What message of hope or inspiration would you like to share with other women in our community who are also pursuing their dreams?
No matter the hurdles you have or are currently facing, do not under any circumstances give up. You were created for a purpose and there will always be opposition from those who do not share your vision. Use that as fuel to keep your passion burning strong and keep pushing forward.
